Welcome from the Director

directorupdateWelcome to the Office of Public Sector Reform’s Website. This website has been developed to inform and educate visitors about public sector modernisation in Barbados and the work of the Office of Public Sector Reform.

In the fiftieth year of our independence the Public Service of Barbados is facing a number challenges. It is therefore imperative that as a sector, we make the necessary adjustment to accelerate our reforms for us to become more productive, responsive, efficient, innovative and customer focused.

The Office of Public Sector Reform will be responding to our nation’s current challenges by offering, change management services in addition to our other services. We have also embarked on a new initiative aimed at reviewing and reengineering service agencies in the Public Sector.

In addition, the Office has sought to strengthen our alliances with key Public sector agencies such as NISE, Productivity Council, Ministry of International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, Data Processing Department, E-government Unit in the Ministry of the Civil Service and the Prime Minister’s Office to improve business facilitation in the Public Service.

It is expected that if these and other initiatives are implemented Barbados’ Public Service will make great strides in its efforts to meet the needs of its citizens.

I hope you enjoy visiting our website and please tell you friends about us.
